About the Books

The Very Special Tractor

This book introduces the reader to Joey, a 9 ½ year old boy, who lives with his Mum and Dad in the small town of Marion Ponds.

Joey lives in his dad’s Grandpa’s house, that his family moved into, before Joey was born.

At the back of the house is an old barn and on the side of the barn there is an old blue tractor. It has a huge secret — it is really a time machine, that can take Joey and his dad back to the days of the dinosaurs!

This is the first book in a series of books about Joey’s life in Marion Ponds and the adventures he has with his dad, on the blue tractor/time machine.

The Boys Go Camping

This is the second book of Joey’s adventures.

Joey and his mates, Stinky and Brick, are at their clubhouse. It is at the end of their town, inside an old abandoned house.

The boys are talking about what else they could do during their school holidays, when Brick says, “Let’s go camping” and the other boys chime in “That’d be cool. Yeah let’s do it tomorrow!”

But this is the first time the boys would be going camping on their own.

So find out what happens when Joey goes home to ask permission.

So Many Dinosaurs!

This is the third book in Joey’s adventures.

After a late night encounter with some noisy wildlife, Joey and his dad go on a Tractor/Time Machine adventure to the time of the dinosaurs.

Joey and his dad are still learning about the area, and the types of dinosaurs they will see.

They never know what Dinosaur Era they will arrive in, and what Dinosaurs they will see. Today they see lots!

Will they make it home safely, on their very special tractor/time machine?

This is one adventure you will wish you were on with Joey!

The Town Field Day

This is the fourth book in Joey’s adventures.

Every country town has a Field Day or Agricultural Show. Today it is happening in Joey’s town.

Joey’s mum is in the cooking competition. His dad is in the woodchop competitions, with Joey’s Uncle Jim.

Joey and his mates are checking out the side shows, and eating yummy hotdogs on sticks. Joey’s cousin Maxie is also with the boys.

After watching the working dogs rounding up sheep in a competition, Joey decides he wants a dog.

But how will he convince his mum and dad?

Dinosaur Hunters Come To Town!

This is the fifth book in Joey’s adventures.

Joey and his class go on an excursion to an Archaeological dig site on the other side of town.

Archaeological means they are looking for things belonging to people that lived near the town, a long time ago.

But when Joey gets to the site, he finds out that it is also a Paleontological dig. They are looking for Dinosaurs too!

Joey quickly becomes involved in the project, and works on including it into the dinosaur adventures with his dad.

All while keeping the secret of his blue tractor/time machine!

The Town Fishing Competition

This is the sixth book in Joey’s adventures.

Today is the day of the Town Fishing Competition, and everyone is going to be there, trying to catch the $10,000 fish. Wow, how good would it be to catch that?

They meet the Dinosaur Dig Team at lunch time, and learn that the Team will be digging in the Pond soon. What would they find? Dinosaurs? Treasure?

Does someone catch the fish? Or is it a takeaway meal that night?

Whatever happens, Joey knows it will be fun. Fishing is always fun.

Being with his family and friends is always fun.

What Lives In The Swamp?

This is the seventh book in Joey’s adventures.

Joey is looking forward to the Dinosaur Dig starting in the Pond, but first he would like to check out what is at the swamp in Dinosaur Days.

So Joey and his dad are off on a tractor/time machine adventure. What will they see this time? What will chase them this time?

And then when Joey is at the Dinosaur Dig Site, what will the Dig Team find in the Pond millions of years later?

Joey can’t wait to see what happens. Can you?

The Boys Go Camping With Their Dads

This is the eighth book in Joey’s adventures.

Joey is off on a camping adventure with his mates, Brick and Stinky, his cousin Maxie and their dads. Four boys and four dads. What ever will they get up to?

Perhaps a treasure hunt, looking for precious items to keep back at their clubhouse. Or a hike up Mt Watcher.

And when they get back to camp, they can toast marshmallows and sing songs.

The boys had fun when they went camping on their own, in Book 2. But they have a lot more fun, when they go camping with their dads.

Mt Watcher Is A Volcano!

This is the ninth book in Joey’s adventures.

Joey and his dad are going on a new adventure on the tractor/time machine today. To a new spot, where the Dinosaurs live.

But the Dinosaurs seemed to be making more noise than usual today. Suddenly, the ground starts to rumble, and all the dinosaurs are running through the clearing, towards the swamp!

They look up towards Mt Watcher — it is a volcano! They have to get out of there NOW!

Do the Dinosaur Dig Team know it is a volcano? Is that how the Dinosaurs died in Marion Ponds?

Read now and find out!

Joey has a day for lots of jobs …..and a surprise !

This is the tenth book in Joey’s adventures.

Whilst reading his Dinosaur book, Joey discovers a page showing a book about Mega Fauna — animals that lived after the Dinosaurs.

He wants to learn about Woolly Mammoths, and Sabre-Tooth Tigers. He wants to know if they were in his town, after the Dinosaurs.

Do the Dinosaur Dig Team know about the Mega Fauna?

But today there are jobs to do around the house. No time for a trip on the tractor/time machine.

And then there is the surprise that Joey’s mum and dad have for him that night.
